Welcome!
Greeters will meet you when you enter the main doors on the east side of the building, off the parking lot. There is a convenient curb-side drop area to minimize the walk into the building.  You can also enter the doors that face Kennewick Avenue and proceed straight down the hall to the narthex or foyer area.  The building is fully wheelchair accessible.

Need Help?  Go to the Information Island
An Information Island in the center of the foyer is staffed by volunteers who can answer questions or point you in the right direction.  The Island also includes maps, general information, and sign-up sheets for activities and events.  If you go through the doors just beyond the Island on the west side of the foyer, you can hang your coat on a coat rack and head into the First Pres Center gym to grab a cup of coffee.

Attire and Atmosphere
You are invited to come as you are.  Our church family is a blend of people in all different stages of life -families with children of all ages, couples, singles, and seniors.  At the contemporary service people dress fairly informally; some folks wear blue jeans, others wear semi-causal, a few wear a tie.  The attire at the traditional service is more formal but still includes a range of styles.

Excellent Childcare
The Nursery is open during both worship services and during Sunday School for children age two months through three years.  For your child's safety we have a written check-in and check-out process as well as silent pagers to reach parents if needed.  Children age four years through 2nd grade are invited to attend Children's Worship mid-way through both worship services, where they sing, hear a story, and play games or do Bible crafts.  Parents pick their children up from Children's Worship after the service is done.

Children are welcome in Worship!
Children are a gift from God, and we want them to be part of the worship service if parents so choose.  There are activity bags which you can pick up as you enter worship, these include drawing materials, books, and other quiet activities.  In addition to the Nursery we have a cry room  available in the back of the sanctuary for restless children and challenged parents; it is a good place to calm or feed a baby, let a toddler wiggle, or let a parent catch his or her breath while still hearing and seeing the worship service.

Prayer
If you would like to receive prayer for anything, or you would like to pray with someone following worship, let an usher, a pastor, or an Information Island volunteer know.  We have a prayer room off the foyer, right beside the main doors, and we consider it a privlege to pray with or for you.

A Typical Sunday Morning Service
The service generally lasts about one hour.  The music at 8:30 (9:00 in summer) is primarily contemporary Christian popular music, and the overall atmosphere is casual.  The 11:00 (10:30 in summer) service includes hymns, a choir, and a more classical or traditional atmosphere.  Both services include prayer, confession, a sermon, and announcements.  Communion is served on the first sunday of each month at both worship services.

Join us after worship for coffee!
Join us for donuts and coffee, tea, juice, or water in the First Pres Center, just off the foyer.  Our Youth also run a coffee cart, serving up lattes and mochas, as well as Italian Sodas with all proceeds going to Youth Mission trips.

Sunday School or Education Hour
During the school year there are Sunday School classes for all ages from 9:45-10:45 a.m.  Adult classes change about every three months, and typically include classes on Bible basics, parenting/family issues, history, theology, or special classes of interest.  Sunday School for kids and youth are by age/grade.
